What is PERKESO (SOCSO)?
PERKESO tu basically insurance from kerajaan for workers. If you kena accident at work, get sick from work, or jadi cacat — PERKESO will cover you. Your boss must register you, no choice.
Got 3 schemes now:
- Employment Injury — accident or sick because of work
- Invalidity — cacat that’s NOT from work
- Lindung 24 Jam (NEW Jun 2026) — accident OUTSIDE work also covered now
How Much Kena Potong?
Max salary they calculate on: RM6,000/month

- Boss pays: RM52.50

Lindung 24 Jam — The New One
Starting 1 Jun 2026, there’s this new scheme:
- You pay extra 0.2-0.5% (depending on salary)
- It covers accidents that happen outside work time — like weekend activities, commuting, etc.
- Wajib for foreign workers
- Optional for Malaysian workers (can opt in)
When Must Pay?
Deadline is always 15th of the NEXT month.

Lambat bayar? Kena penalty 10%. So boss better on time.
What You Get If Something Happens
- Free medical at panel hospital/clinic
- Temporary disability pay — 80% of your monthly salary
- Invalidity pension if cannot work anymore permanently
- Funeral benefit — RM5,000
- Dependents’ pension — for family if worker meninggal
- Return to Work — rehab program to help you get back to work
How to Check Your SOCSO Record
- Go to assist.perkeso.gov.my
- Login with IC number
- Click “Semakan Caruman”
- You can see full history — make sure boss been paying every month
Important Tips
- Check your payslip every month — make sure SOCSO deduction is there
- If boss doesn’t register you, that’s illegal — report to PERKESO
- Keep record of any workplace injuries — take photos, get medical report
- If accident at work, report to boss within 48 hours and go to panel clinic
